BUILDING BETTER TOGETHER

The Building Forward Collaborative is a cohort of small businesses in the design-build space located in the Pacific Northwest. Together we work to improve each other’s business operations in pursuit of the Triple Bottom Line: a business philosophy that places equal importance on People, Planet, and Profit.

Our
Methods

  • What we are:

Building Forward Collaborative (BFC) is a business development program that uses the peer coaching model.

Members of the Collaborative share the inner workings of their businesses with their peers who help them sharpen their skills and improve their triple bottom line (People, Planet, and Profit).

  • How it works:

BFC is for company leaders dedicated to sustainability in the built environment. BFC groups meet in-person biannually for a two-day facilitated session at a company member’s place of business. The network communicates year-round online.

  • Time commitment:

Company members will be responsible for attending two in-person meetings per year and participating in the online community.

  • Membership fee:

Sliding scale based on your company’s gross annual revenue. Includes personnel (program administrator and group facilitators), office supplies and software. Meeting rooms, group meals are included, but may vary based on location and time of year. Company members will be invoiced for the difference after the meeting. Lodging and travel expenses are NOT included in membership.

Ready to collaborate with us?

A new cohort within the BFC will be starting in 2026; if you operate a design-build company out of the Pacific Northwest and are interested in joining, please reach out. It’s a challenging time for builders and small businesses, but by working together and building supportive communities, we can help create a better future.
